Vegetable Gardening

Hi, and welcome to howtogrowvegetables.net. Here we will show you how to grow vegetables. Hopefully in a fun way and in a smaller area than you are used to.

Hi, I'm Larry. My brother Steve and I decided to start an organic farm back in 1990 to cash in on the Organic food market that was all the rage at that time.

We were tired of the rat race in Dallas/Fort Worth as well as working for big business. Steve was working for a stock brokerage firm and I for the Postal Service. He was fed up with playing with other people’s money and I was trying very hard not to be one of those disgruntled postal workers!

We already had a small computer company called Saxet Computers to sell discount computers and offer computer assistance. We were doing OK but there were already a lot of small computer companies out there doing the same thing. Please contact me for more information on Saxet Computers by clicking here.

We had just bought 32 acres near Palestine Tx. for our father's retirement (also from the Postal service) and we were trying to figure out what to do with it. The land had been idle for years and what the heck, why not put it to use.

According to our research there was an 8 billion dollar a year market in organically grown products with California hogging at least 80% of that market. Texas was just starting up their organic program so could get in on the ground floor so to speak. Perfect!

Off to Palestine Tx. Off to the great Piney Woods of East Texas. Off to our great venture or as it turned out our great adventure.

You see what we knew about growing vegetables could be summed up as "all you have to do is put the seed in the ground and water it!" Right?!!! (To read more please click here).
